Students at Poplar Springs Elementary School had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather Thursday morning as part of their annual Field Day.
Students, teachers, and family members gathered on the field outside the school for games.
Students competed in soccer dribble, musical ice buckets, and other events throughout the day.
Field Day allows the students a chance to have fun and compete with one another before state tests begin.
"Our children have worked very hard all year long in their academics," said teacher Clair Huff. "Soon we'll have our state testing, so this is just a day to celebrate that hard work and reward them and let them have a great day of fun and competition."
Field Day has been held for over 26 years at Poplar Springs. State testing for students begins next month.
