Friends and family of TaDarius Jones have placed roses in the front yard of an abandoned home on 27th Street in Meridian. It's where authorities discovered Jones vehicle shortly after his disappearance last year. Now, Jones parents are reflecting on the year that has passed since they last saw their son.
"It's gone by pretty fast," Jones father, Jimmy Whitehead, says. "It's been a rough year. There's not been one day that we haven't thought about our son Tadarius. And we're still hoping to hear from him. It's only by the help of prayer from friends that we're still able to stand here."
Friends gathered on Wednesday night with candles and flyers to say a prayer for Tadarius, hoping for his safe return.
"Yes, we believe that someone will have some kind of compassion," Jones mother, Tabitha Jones, says. "And we just keep praying that something will show up one day soon."
Meridian police tell Newscenter 11 they are still actively investigating the disappearance of Tadarius Jones. If you have any information that can help authorities, you are asked to contact the Meridian Police Department.
