Many people piled into area retailers for Mississippi's fourth-annual tax free weekend on clothes and shoes.
Apparel items under $100 are eligible for the 7 percent tax break. But as in the past, school supplies and computers are not included.
The Bonita Lakes Mall in Meridian was packed on Saturday. A fair was even set up in the parking lot in anticipation of the rush of shoppers. We caught up with one woman who told us she put off her shopping until this weekend.
"We waited just for the tax free weekend, there's just so much stuff now that you have to get for the kids, and times are hard now like they are and this gives us a break. It gives the moms a break and we're all able to get it before school starts."
Tax free weekend runs through midnight on Saturday.
