Members of Meridian's Tea Party held a meeting Tuesday night at the EMEPA auditorium.

The general meeting included words from Thomas Cramer of Vancleave, who is running for U.S. Senate from the Constitution Party.

Cramer told the crowd he hopes to draw support as a third party candidate in the race for the contested Senate seat this November.

"We have the chance to send a constitutionalist, third party, to the U.S. Senate," said Cramer, "and we in Mississippi can set the standard on this. And it will put the rest of the country on notice."

Cramer will take on incumbent Republican Roger Wicker, Democratic nominee Albert N. Gore, Jr., and Reform Party candidate Sean O'Hara in November.
