Meridian, Miss. Teachers at Meridian High School are already getting a jump start on the next school year. And some big changes will be happening then.
Teachers took part in training for the school's long awaited small learning communities. One of them, Health, got started last year.
School officials plan to implement two more this coming year, Visual and Performing Arts and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
"We take those students who have that interest in those small learning communities, and take them and prepare them as well as we can for their career, or to move on to college, and to move on and learn more about those careers," said Terry Moore, director of Small Learning Communities.
Friday's training was done by a representative from the National Career Academy Coalition.
