Thompson Wants Federal Investigation of Prison

The top Democrat on the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee is seeking a federal probe of a
Mississippi prison riot that left one guard dead and 20 people injured.

U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi says the riot at Adams County Correctional Facility is "troubling and brings into question the effectiveness of privately owned and operated prison facilities."

Thompson has asked the FBI and Department of Homeland Security to investigate.

The riot began Sunday afternoon and lasted into the night.

The prison, run by Corrections Corporation of America, holds nearly 2,500 low-security federal inmates.

Most are serving time for coming back to the United States after being deported.

from what i hear, most of the people in this prison are people who are suspected of being illegal alians. they have not robbed, murdered, or done anything else wrong. maybe, here is an idea (and i am NOT being sarcastic) we should just deport these people bact to where they came from and the problem would be solved.

I am offended common sense. You are not a Democrat. Do you not care about the people? Have you no heart? A true Democrat would understand and that's why we try to do things the way we do.

We are the ones getting punished here our tax dollars are paying for them to kick back plan something stupid like this! And watch tv, in air conditioned environment , eat good meals, all the health, dental, vision . And we get the bill my opinion if they kill someone they get the same treatment they gave! If they stole put them in a cotton field and let them work it off! And if they grow it they don't eat it. After about 16 hours a day in a field they would be too tired to do something like this and when they got out they wouldn't want to go back...

Ladies and gentlemen, the typical Republican response. Not all will say it, but almost all will think it.

Typical bleeding heart liberal response. Why do prisons even have cable tv and steak dinners? What are these prisoners supposed to be doing, I don't know...paying for a crime?

You see ? these poor people are done so wrong. If they just got more tv's and ribeye steaks they would be happy, dont they deserve not to be treated like people? you would think they were animals or somthing. i am sure glad a fellow democrat is taking on this. we should make those poor people feel more at home then in prison. I bet a republican would want more guards and take all the tv's and stuff away from them and want to treat them like convicts. shame shame. go greenand vote democrat.
