Update: Toddler Death Case

Family members are speaking out about new developments in the death case of a Lauderdale County toddler.

"We were all really frustrated about it because we were told it couldn't be continued again," said Chasity Tanner.

However, Tanner says the trial of the man accused in the death of her son has been continued again; this marks the third time.

When two-year-old Landon Tanner died in September 2010, Chasity says she and the man accused, Justin Clearman, were engaged. The couple, along with Chasity's two children, lived together in Causeyville.

According to autopsy results, Landon died from blunt force trauma to the head.

"Our intentions with any of this is not to throw anyone under the bus. All we want to know is the truth about what happened to our child," said Chasity Tanner.

"I feel sad for Landon because we are his voice. And if we can't talk and say things for him we'll never get justice until that court date," said Landon's grandfather, Danny Tanner.

Prosecutors say it's not unusual for cases with multiple attorneys and doctors involved to be continued several times. Although disappointed about the case being continued again, Landon's family members say they just want closure.

"I want them to do every single thing they need to do and have to do to find out exactly what happened to Landon, so that justice can be served for him," said Chasity Tanner.

"I want answers! I want someone to explain what happened to our baby; somebody to tell us was it an accident or intentional? Why did this happen?" said Danny Tanner.

Prosecutors say it's possible that Clearman's case will go to trial in August.
