The Mississippi Department of Transportation says
a wide load that will be traveling through Noxubee and Kemper counties, starting Wednesday morning.
Barnhart Crane & Rigging will be moving a heat exchanger from Bigbee Valley on Highway 388 to the Mississippi Power plant site in Kemper County on Highway 493.
MDOT says the load will be 163' 5" long and 14' 11" high and weighs 776,166 pounds. The load will travel on an expandable trailer that will be as wide as 21' 11" during normal travel and expand to 29' 11" when crossing bridges.
Officials say the load will travel the following route: Start on Highway 388 and proceed to U.S. 45. Then it will travel on Highway 16 to Highway 493.
In the morning, the load will proceed to Scooba where it will stay until 8 p.m. At 8 p.m. it will move on Highway 16 to Highway 493 to its destination at the power plant site.
The load will be accompanied by law enforcement agencies of both Noxubee and Kemper counties for traffic control.
