An active turkey on the loose is causing a stir in Marion.
For the last several weeks, a wild turkey has been roaming the streets of Marion. Friday, it strolled into traffic.
Police and wildlife officers tried to track it down. But the bird caused quite a disruption for several minutes.
"Actually, the turkey has been in the town of Marion for about a month," said Asst. Police Chief Randall Davis. "But everybody has been noticing the turkey and trying to find out if he is wild or tame. And we're just trying to keep him from getting hurt."
The bad news, or good news, depending on your perspective, is that the turkey got away. Police say he is still roaming free.
