Two Charged in Commercial Burglaries

Meridian, Miss. Meridian police say a couple of suspects have been arrested in connection with a commercial burglary and attempted break-ins.

Officials say officers were called early Tuesday morning to an attempted commercial burglary and later another commercial burglary on the east side of town.

Police say they investigated the scene, gathered evidence and then left. Later, the MPD says a patrol officer saw three people acting suspiciously in that general area and questioned them.

The investigation led to 22-year-old Derrick L. Gaddis, Jakuavis D. Powe, 18, and a 17-year-old juvenile being charged with commercial burglary and 2 counts of attempted commercial burglary.

Total bond for the two adults was set at $100,000 each. The juvenile has been referred to youth court.
