Wanted Suspect Turns Himself In

Lauderdale County, Miss. The Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department says Sancarious Antwan Overstreet turned himself in Wednesday.

He had been sought as a suspect in an armed carjacking last week in the 2700 block of Old Highway 19 SE.

"The investigation is still ongoing at this point and time," Chief Deputy Ward Calhoun says. "We have other individuals that are involved in this incident."

Investigators announced Tuesday they had charged 40-year-old Charlsa Donahue with a related burglary. Meantime, Calhoun says the public helped in getting Overstreet to turn himself in.

"So, we do believe that the attention that the media and the community put towards an individual who's wanted does cause them to consider that and in this case, he made the wise choice to go ahead and turn himself in," Calhoun explains.

Calhoun says the suspects involvement in other crimes in our area is part of this ongoing investigation. All of the information and evidence that investigators have gathered will be presented to the next available Lauderdale County Grand Jury.

Bond for Overstreet has been set at $30,000. Donahue's bond has been set at $10,000.
