The Mississippi Department of Transportation has an alert for drivers in Noxubee and Kemper counties Thursday, June 14.
Barnhart Crane & Rigging will be moving a steam drum from Bigbee Valley on Highway 388 to the Mississippi Power plant site in Kemper County on Highway 493.
The load will be 20 feet, 8 inches wide, 166 feet, 11 inches long, 16 feet, 8 inches high and will weigh 1,058,000 pounds.
The load will take Highway 388 to Highway 45, then take Highway 16 to Highway 493. The move will begin sometime in the morning June 14 and will proceed to Scooba, where it will park until 8 p.m. After 8:00 p.m., the load will move on Highway 16 to Highway 493 to its destination at the power plant site.
The load will be accompanied by law enforcement agencies of both Noxubee and Kemper Counties for traffic control.
Motorists should be aware and expect a short traffic delay along this route.
