Meridian, Miss. A woman and child severely burned in a Friday morning house fire have died.
Lauderdale County Coroner Clayton Cobler tells Newscenter 11 the woman died around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The woman's 3-year old daughter died at a burn center in Georgia on Saturday evening. Their identities were not released until Nov. 4. They were identified as 27-year-old Ashley Nicole Rutledge and her 3-year-old daughter, Shaila Mackenzie Rutledge.
A man and 5-year old boy were also severely burned during the fire. Their conditions are unknown at this time.
Meridian Fire Chief Anthony Clayton says firefighters were called to the home in the Campground RV Park around 9:30 Friday morning. Chief Clayton tells Newscenter 11 the house was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
