After another stormy weekend across the Deep South, officials are once again assessing damage from tornadoes over Northern Mississippi and West Tennessee and from wind damage in our area.
The worst damage has been well north of our area, but power outages and downed trees were reported in isolated cases across South Lauderdale County from Clarkdale to Causeyville.
The National Weather Service reports a tree fell onto a house and a car, damaging both. That report is from Laurel in Jones County. Power lines were down all around Laurel, and a Downtown Laurel business had its windows blown out. That storm blasted through Laurel around 10:30 Sunday morning.
