El Reno, Oklahoma Authorities say the death toll from Friday night's tornado in the Oklahoma City metro area has risen to 10.

Spokeswoman Amy Elliott said the state medical examiner's office received another body Saturday evening, increasing the death toll by one.

Eight adults and two children died from the Friday tornado, which charged down a clogged Interstate 40 in the western suburbs of Oklahoma City.

Gov. Mary Fallin said Sunday that emergency workers are searching flooded areas for missing residents. She didn't say how many are missing.

The Storm Prediction Center says there's some chance that the violent weather system that's been battering the Plains and Midwest could produce dangerous storms in the Northeast today. Forecasters say hail and high winds are the main threat, but tornadoes can't be ruled out. The area at risk extends from Washington, D.C. to northern Maine.
