The dinner is set for Mar. 6 at the Canton Multipurpose & Equine Center at 7:30 p.m.
“With the Democratic Party presidential nomination still undecided, Mississippi will play an important role with the March 11 primary,” said Wayne Dowdy, chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party.
Tickets go on sale Feb. 22 at the state party headquarters, 832 N. Congress St. in Jackson, and may be purchased by calling the party headquarters at (601) 969-2913 or visiting the party’s Web site at www.msdemocrats.net.
Tickets are $125 each or $1,000 for a table of eight; tickets for Yellow Dog Democrat Club members are $65 each. Special VIP tickets and seating also will be available at a premium price through the Mississippi Democratic Party headquarters.
A limited number of grandstand, general admission tickets (no meal provided) are available at $50 each.
The Jefferson Jackson Hamer Day Dinner is named in honor of former Presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson and civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer.
This year’s dinner also will recognize Democratic candidates running for each of the state’s U.S. House seats and the state’s two U.S. Senate seats.
