Smith Chosen GOP Delegate

Three Lauderdale County Republicans will be heading to the national party convention in July.

Over the weekend, Meridian businessman C.D. Smith was elected one of 33 Mississippi delegates to the National Republican Convention in Indianapolis.

State Rep. Greg Snowden and former congressional candidate Bill Marcy were both elected to serve as alternates.

The convention will officially nominate Sen. John McCain as the Republican presidential nominee.
