Sample ballots and absentee ballots are available at circuit clerk offices around Mississippi. And the election is only three weeks away.
Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson reminds voters that some of them are eligible to cast absentee ballots prior to the election.
People who work during polling hours, students away at college, and others who will be out-of-town Nov. 4 are included.
"We have lots of truck drivers. We have nurses working different shifts. We have people that work in Philadelphia, over in Alabama. There are a lot of occupations, railroad employees, that take advantage of this on a regular basis," said Johnson. "But we do encourage everybody to come in now because we will have an historical turnout. And if you need to vote absentee we don't want you waiting in line as long as you might have to if you wait."
Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said Mississippi has 172,787 new voters registered this year.
