The chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party says Sam Hall will continue to serve as the party's executive director.
Chairman Jamie Franks said the decision was made during an administrative committee meeting Thursday in Jackson. He said the meeting held last weekend illegal.
Last weekend, some party members held an emergency meeting and removed Hall from the position.
The group also elected controversial local party leader Ike Brown to the executive committee. No action was taken on Brown's election at Thursday's meeting.
Franks said the administrative committee also hired Christopher Smith as political director.
