Democratic U.S. Rep. Artur Davis was the only member of Alabama's delegation in Congress to vote for Democrat-backed budget resolutions.

Two of Alabama's three Democrats in the U.S. House, freshmen representatives Bobby Bright of Montgomery and Parker Griffith of Huntsville, joined the four Alabama Republicans in voting against the $3.6 trillion budget plan that supports President Barrack Obama's agenda.

Alabama's two Republican senators, Richard Shelby and Jeff Sessions, also voted against a Democrat-backed budget resolution in the Senate.

Bright said he crossed party lines to oppose the budget because it doesn't do enough to control government spending and reduce the budget deficit.
