House and Senate leaders said Friday that budget negotiators wanted more time to watch tax collection trends and to consider how the federal stimulus money might affect Mississippi.

Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant told senators Friday that budget discussions are "at a challenging point just now."

WHOSE PAYING FOR THE SPECIAL SESSIONS? IF THEY ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE TAXPAYER, THEN THEY NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE ON THE SALARY THEY HAVE WITH NO EXTRA PAY FOR SPECIAL SESSION. IT MUST BE GREAT TO BE THE ONE THAT SIGNS YOUR OWN CHECK AT SOMEONE ELSE (TAXPAYERS) EXPENSE.
