Hosemann Finds Irregularities in Meridian, Other Cities

Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann issued his report on state municipal elections Monday.

Hosemann said he did find some irregularities in Meridian's races.

The secretary of state says Meridian was one of several cities in the state where poll workers repeatedly assisted voters who did not ask for assistance.

Hosemann also said Meridian was among several cities where voters were assisted by other people, despite not having a legal right to do so.

ED and Mack-Did you read I do voter rolls' comments? I was simply responding to those comments-he/she was the one reporting untruths-I appreciate all poll workers and have been a manager, watcher, and worker for years. Don't condemn me for my comments. The Bill of Rights gives me the same freedoms you have. You guys need to know the facts, as well.

A little knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Failure to ascertain the facts before spewing alleged information should be criminal. See the report at http://www.sos.state.ms.us/ed_pubs/PressReleases/Articles.asp?prno=2204

More evidence of a fading Meridian. Why would anybody want to locate there after reading all of this stuff? Poverty city.

Dear I do voter rolls-the name is Poplar Springs and you must have been present at the Council of Organizations building listening to precinct workers, inside of church vans hearing their concersations, and in Percy's back pocket during the concert? Percy knew he should have been mayor, but then of course, we had people like you "doing the voter rolls every day."

Recount? The irregularities? The OBama Justice Department had workers, who were minorities, in Meridian for the Mayor's Election. Ask Michael Bland who the Justice Department had here in Meridian. Had to have cheated...maybe a guy that moved from Jackson that was supported by Hartley Peavey that keeps good jobs out of Meridian, just didn't get the votes. Why didn't Percy file a complaint? Even Gore who lost filed a complaint. Maybe it is because the Council of the Organizations Building precinct workers were telling people to vote for Percy. Or, maybe, it was the people driving the vans around asking if you were this registered voter's name, come with us and vote for Percy.Or maybe it was Percy spending his last weekend before the election at a concert, not knowing if the people were registered to vote while Barry's campaign went to 6,000 registered voters houses in the Popular Springs, Eagle Pointe and surrounding area.

What can be done about this now? It's depressing to know that this kind of stuff happens.

Fact-Percy Bland was winning by a landslide, we were ready to celebrate, another racist town in Mississippi was about to elect its first AA mayor. (Philadelphia being the first) AA church vans rolled, Velma Young was running over with AA voters, teens got out to vote for the first time-Celebration? NOT-Poplar Springs took Mrs. Barry over the top-I am not surprised irregularities were found-We might need to do a recount.
