Registered voters who qualify to cast absentee ballots may do so now at their circuit clerk's office.
The Democratic and Republican primaries are set for Tuesday, Aug. 7.
Polling hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
People who would be out-of-town on that date, or working during polling hours, such as railroad employees, long-haul truck drivers, military, shift workers, hospital, college students, scheduled seminars, planned trips, and poll workers, may vote by absentee ballot.
Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson advises these voters to go ahead and cast your vote, instead of waiting and possibly encountering long lines.
