The Mississippi Police Benevolent Association has endorsed former special assistant attorney general and retired Major General Al Hopkins in the state attorney general's race.
"Al Hopkins has given his life to public service, and that's why our members are excited to stand with him and do everything we can to ensure he is our leader for the next 4 years," said senior vice-president Ken Magee.
Hopkins said he was humbled to receive the endorsement. He is unopposed in the Aug. 7 Republican primary, but will meet the incumbent, Attorney General Jim Hood in November.
