There is a Republican runoff in two weeks for Mississippi House of Representatives District 84.
In that race, attorney Tad Campbell placed second in a field of four candidates. BellSouth regional manager C.D. Smith placed first, but no one received a 50 percent plus one majority.
Campbell said he's excited to be in the runoff and hopes to get a chance to serve the people of his district in the state house.
"I feel like I have a lot to offer. I grew up in the West Lauderdale community. I know the values, traditional family, community values of that community. And I feel like I'm the best, the best candidate to represent this district," said Campbell.
The runoff will be held in two weeks on Aug. 28.
