A new book by Alabama House Speaker Mike Hubbard details how Republicans won majorities in the Alabama House and Senate in 2010 and elected Hubbard speaker.
The book, "Storming The State House," is set to officially hit shelves Tuesday.
The win marked the first time Republicans had controlled the Alabama House and Senate in 136 years.
Hubbard at the time was the Republican leader in the House and the state Republican Party chairman. He felt like the time was right for Republicans to take over the Statehouse for the first time since the days of Reconstruction following the Civil War.
The result was Republicans won supermajorities in the House and Senate. Hubbard says the victory came from hard work and the ability to raise money.
