Lauderdale County supervisors accepted bids to build a new horse barn at the Lauderdale County Agri-Center Thursday.
Nineteen bids were submitted. The estimated costs for the new barn is $400,000.
"It will encompass about 10,000 square feet, maybe a little more," said Rob seal, executive director of the Agri-Center. "This has been a long-awaited project from the standpoint that this was actually an original design on the original building that never got built."
The new barn will serve as a warm-up area for horses. The Agri-Center is used for many equestrian events.
Seal says once the board approves a bid, the grand opening will take place at least 180 days after that.
Supervisors are not expected to vote on the bids until mid-April.
