Brainstorming Session for Tourism

The Lauderdale County Tourism Commission is now working on new ways to get better information out to tourists.

A tourism retreat Tuesday brought Lauderdale County supervisors and the tourism commission together.

New tourism executive director Dede Mogollon says the group wanted to come up with better ways to bring in tourists to the city of Meridian and Lauderdale County.

"We spent all day brainstorming what is our mission at tourism, where we want to go. And we got great feedback from everybody and we are looking forward to putting more information out," said Mogollon.

The Toomsuba Welcome Center had over 30,000 visitors last month alone.
