Chief Justice Waller in Meridian

Mississippi State Supreme Court Justice Bill Waller was in the Queen City Wednesday. He spoke to the Rotary Club at Northwood Country Club about how the court system works. He explained how work is divided among the Supreme Court Panel and the steps a case must go through before it reaches the Supreme Court. He believes that voters should take his tax-money-saving projects into account when they head to the polls this November. Waller says, "I think the initiatives I have taking the drug courts state wide and estimated savings to the state of $38 million and bringing the e-filing system to the state at no cost, and having a judiciary I think in which public confidence has increased. I think we have a fair court. I think we have a court that's interested in efficiencies of money and time." If Waller is re-elected on November 6th, he will begin his third term as the Chief Justice of the state's highest court.
