The Meridian City Council has passed a resolution to issue bonds for up to $4.5 million for paving and drainage repairs.
According to Mayor Cheri Barry's office, the council and Barry will evaluate the roads in each ward to make a list of priorities.
The city has said it does not anticipate a tax increase to borrow the money.
Officials say the work will begin as soon as the bonds are sold.
