DuBose Loses Mayor's Race, New Council Also Elected

The city of York has elected a new mayor and a new city council.

York officials say Gena Doggett Robbins defeated incumbent Glenda DuBose in the race for mayor. Unofficial results sent to Newscenter 11 by Robbins herself show she received 571 votes and DuBose 224 votes. Election officials in York could not be reached on Tuesday night to confirm these numbers.

York voters elected four new city council members. York officials say they are Joe Brown, Belinda Hood, Diane Ruffin, and Ecoles Cook.

Voters also approved a measure that will allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays in York.
