Election officials have spent the past few weeks training poll workers and making sure all of the necessary paperwork and equipment is in place for the big day.
However, the phone just didn't stop ringing in Lauderdale County Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson's office on Monday. Johnson says voters were calling with a number of concerns, including where they should vote. But she says poll workers are ready for anything on Tuesday.
"Lauderdale County poll workers are great," Johnson exclaims. "In fact, they are used as an example all over the state for training purposes because they do such a great job in Lauderdale County. And we do have great, great poll workers and we appreciate that."
Late Monday afternoon, poll workers from all of Lauderdale County's 48 precincts stopped by the courthouse to pick up their supply crates. Tuesday will no doubt a long one for poll workers and election officials at the courthouse.
You are encouraged to avoid voting at peak times, which are between 7 and 9 a.m., 12p.m., and then 5 to 7p.m. Polls are open from 7a.m. to 7p.m.
