Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour is set to appear this week in the early primary state of New Hampshire as he continues preparing for a possible 2012 presidential run.

The Republican's political action committee says Barbour is scheduled to attend a reception Wednesday at a home in Bow.

On Thursday, Barbour is scheduled to go to a restaurant in Manchester and a gun shop in Hooksett before attending a reception hosted by the Greater Manchester Federation of Republican Women.

Barbour was to travel to New Hampshire March 27 and 28 but stayed home to work on the Mississippi budget.

Barbour has been to several states with early presidential contests, including Iowa, South Carolina and Nevada.

He says he'll decide by the end of this month whether to declare as a candidate.

Why not? It will be a welcome change! As far as what he's done as governor, he's done far better than any prior democrat governors combined.

I liked 'Dukes of Hazzard' when I was a kid but can't see 'Boss Hogg" running the country.

Who does Gov. Barbour think he's kidding? With all the traveling he's been doing for the last two years (with taxpayers money), of course he's going to run. We haven't had a governor since he's been in office and now he wants to be president. ____! I wouldn't vote for him if my life depended on it. Can the republicans do any better than this? I'm thinking about changing parties. He's spent more time in states being a politician than he has taking care of the needs of Mississippi. We're behind in everything from education, jobs, public transportation, health care, the list goes on and on. What could he possibly give to the country as president!
