Emergency responders from across the state, along with fifty members of the Mississippi National Guard are in Louisville helping with recovery efforts. Governor Phil Bryant made a stop in the city Tuesday afternoon. He's making a plea to the general public about avoiding areas with major damage.
"I will say that if you are not living in that damaged area, or if you don't have affected relatives in those areas that you should stay out of those areas," says Governor Bryant. "We do not need sightseers who are looking and taking pictures. In fact, if you do that you will be stopped by a law enforcement officer."
Exact damage assessments for Winston County are not yet available.
