Two local communities will receive several thousand dollars to help make improvements to government buildings.
Among those is the city of Philadelphia, which is receiving a community heritage grant from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History to do work on the Philadelphia police station.
The city will receive about $130,000 for roofing and drainage repairs.
Clarke County will receive a similar grant to do work on the county courthouse's roof, about $72,000. The two grants are a part of $3 million in grants the department has just announced.
