The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office says it has concluded an investigation into why three people were found locked inside of the Hinds County Courthouse after it closed Tuesday.
In a news release, the department said there is no reason to believe that the three individuals engaged in any criminal activity nor were any laws broken. Officials said the three
entered through a side-door that was either propped-open or malfunctioning at the time of entry.
The sheriff's department said there was no breach of security to the integrity of the voting process. All voting ballots were in a secured vault inside of the Hinds County Circuit Clerk’s Office. The three would have only had access to common areas of the courthouse.
The Hinds County Sheriff's Department says no one was apprehended and it has closed the investigation.
