A work session Wednesday was focused on city bond funds that have been approved to go toward road improvement throughout Meridian.
Public Works Director Monty Jackson presented the council with a map of trouble spots throughout town.
"We know there's more need than we have money," says Jackson. "so hopefully we can get the worst ones right now, and maybe have money for next year."
Public works ranked the trouble spots, trying to zero in on the roads that have to get fixed soon. But council members will be pouring over the list and making adjustments in the coming days.
"I think we have some agreement on the major thoroughfares," says Ward 1 Councilman George Thomas. "I think the main discussion will be on the streets in the neighborhoods."
However the funds are distributed, council members say they want to agree on a plan soon, and get this project started by the fall.
