Mississippi House Speaker Philip Gunn will make several stops across the state in late September to gather ideas for the 2015 legislative session.
The speaker's office says in a news release Monday that this is Gunn's way of bringing the legislature to people who might not have a chance to travel to Jackson.
Gunn is scheduled to make appearances Sept. 22 in Ridgeland and Pearl, Sept. 23 in Cleveland and Senatobia, Sept. 24 in Tupelo and Louisville and Sept. 25 in McComb and Picayune.
This will be the third year for Gunn to travel the state to gather people's ideas. The Republican from Clinton says he's interested in hearing proposals to deal with job creation, health care and education.
House Democratic Leader Bobby Moak says Democrats in 2015 will push for teacher pay raises, Medicaid expansion and a grocery tax cut.
