Meridian's renovated city hall will be on display Tuesday at an open house.
The city will mark the end of construction that took about 5.5 years and went about $10 million over budget. City hall was restored to its original design.
This will be the public's first look inside. It will be a while yet before city business moves back to the historic building.
"They will begin the moving in process on Wednesday," said cultural affairs coordinator Casey Null. "It will probably take about a 2-week time frame. Obviously, we don't want to stop any of the city business that's taking place. And so, it will be a step-by-step process."
The ceremony begins at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon, and the open house will continue until 6 p.m. The event is open to the public.
