The town of York, Ala., has a new mayor who will take office in November.
Gena Doggett Robbins won Tuesday's election by a wide margin over incumbent Brenda Dubose, in unofficial returns.
The mayor-elect said the most important aspect of the election is the number of the voters wanting change in the city.
Robbins says the voters want to have a say in the future of York.
"Whatever's going on with the city finances, that's what we need to find out, the council, the community," said Gena Doggett Robbins. "The citizens want to know, what do we have? What do we not have? What do we have coming in? What resources do we have financially that should be coming in that are not?"
Voters also elected four new city council members and approved alcohol sales on Sundays.
