'Shutdown' Won't Affect VA Health Services

The Veterans Administration says the VA hospital in Jackson and community clinics will not be affected by a potential 'government shutdown'.

According to the Veterans Health Administration, the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Hospital in Jackson and the seven outpatient clinics in Meridian, Hattiesburg, Laurel, Columbus, Kosciusko, Greenville and Natchez have advance appropriations for fiscal year 2014.

That means the hospital, clinics and other health services will remain open for veterans.
