Another person has announced a run for Meridian's City Council.
Democrat Terry Stennis announced his plans to seek the Ward 2 council person's spot currently held by Mary Perry. Stennis is a local business man who also serves as chief financial officer for the Noxubee County Schools.
"When you're looking at a city of Meridian, that you've got 25-30% of the people who are living below the poverty level and 40% of those people are 18 and younger," Stennis says. "We're not making an excuse for anyone, but then we're going to see an escalation in crime, and of course, that's what we're seeing in Meridian."
Nathaniel Pringle and Martin Jack are running against Perry and Stennis in Ward 2.
