Funeral services for Cecil Milton Harvell, 81, of York will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11 A.M. from the Chapel of Bumpers Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Lowery and Rev. Patsy Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the York City Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Harvell passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Camden High School and Draughons Business College. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and a retired accountant for American Can Paper Company. Mr. Harvell was a member of the York Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife Stella Hitt Harvell; sisters Sadie Pugh (Keith), Mary Warner, Ann Allen (Wendall), Sandra Rodgers (Jack); and brother Joe Harvell (Martha); and sister-in-laws Jo Harvell and Louise Harvell.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Sadie Morgan Harvell; sister Ruby Thames, brothers Lewis, John and Billy Harvell.
Pallbearers are nephews Mark, Mike, Max and Matt Pugh, John Paul Harvell, Gregg Allen, Daniel Warner, and Bill Hitt. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Campbell, Tommy Neal, and Jimmy Dale Powell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the York Presbyterian Church.
