Funeral services for Gilmer Devon Faile, 70, of Pennington will be held Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Silas First Baptist Church at 11 A.M. with Rev. Don Whigham officiating. Burial will follow in the Edgar Cemetery. Visitation will be at Bumpers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 P.M. and at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Faile passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at his residence.
He was the son of Herbert Gilmer and Thelma Gaye Braswell Faile. Devon was a 1961 graduate of Southern Choctaw High School and following graduation served in the U.S. Army being stationed in France. He was a retiree of Georgia Pacific in Pennington. He was also a 32nd Degree Mason of the Gilead Lodge #9 in Butler, Alabama and a Shriner.
Survivors include his two sons Deron Clay Faile (Megan) and Devi Christian Faile (Vicki); four grandchildren Christy Faile, Carley Faile, Drew Faile, and Ashton Faile; his brother Danny N. Faile and his sister Darleine Maten.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Carolyn Jean Skinner Faile and his brother Dudley R. Faile.
