Services for Mr. William Ronald (Ron) Mott will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Vincent officiating. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Mott, 73, of Decatur, died Monday, March 23, 2009 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
He was a member of Clarke-Venable Baptist Church and a member of the "Pals" Sunday School Class. He was a retired Navy Chief, Naval engineer on ship building, and a retired electronics instructor at ECCC. He is best remembered as a devoted grandfather and as an advocate for the less fortunate especially children, veterans and the elderly.
Mr. Mott was a member of numerous organizations, both local and national. Fleet Reserve Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, The American Legion, Lions Club, Shriners, Masons, and Eastern Star.
Mr. Mott received many awards for military achievements and The Who's Who "Teacher of the Year" award while teaching at ECCC in Decatur, MS.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Ray Mott and one sister, Linda Mott Jenkins.
Pallbearers will be Tony Ferguson, Randy Ferguson, Jeff Smith, Camp Keith, Kevin Jenkins, Gregg Jackson, Scott Jackson, Terry Jones, and Kent Mayes

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2009 from 6-8:30 pm at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
