Funeral services for Edwin Russell were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Justin Chaney and Rev. Charles Bonner officiating. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery. James F. Webb Funeral Home in Newton was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Russell, 67, of Decatur, died Saturday, April 04, 2009, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a retired employee of La-Z-Boy South in Newton.
Survivors include his wife: Nancy Russell of Decatur; two daughters: Wendy (Nathan) Ellis of Mt. Olive; Penny (Robbie) Ford of Newton; four grandchildren: Carlee Ford, Russell Ford, Brayden Ellis and Laramie Ellis; two brothers: his twin brother, Edward Russell of Wichita Falls, TX; Johnny Russell of Chunky; four sisters: Lois Smith of Chunky; Edna Jones of Chunky; Betty Wilson of Wichita Falls, TX; Faye Bishop of Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Clyde Albert and Mary Alice Germany Russell; and one brother: Harold Russell.
Pallbearers were James Smith, Dennis Jones, Scotty Stokes, Jimmy Hitt, Wayne Bishop, and Ricky Wyatt
