Services for James H. Boutwell will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, 4-23-2009 at James F. Webb Funeral Home Chapel in Newton, MS with Dr. Bryce Evans officiating. Burial will be in the Poplar Springs Church Cemetery with James F. Webb Funeral Home of Newton, MS in charge of arrangements. 601-683-2152.
Mr. Boutwell, 92, of Newton, died on Sunday 4-19-2009 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS. He was a WWII Veteran, and retired from the Air National Guard’s 186th Tactical Reconnaissance Group in Meridian. He also retired as a Supervisor at La-Z-Boy, and was a cattle and timber farmer. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather & great-grandfather. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Nancy Mary Boutwell of Newton, one son John W. Boutwell and his wife Barbara, of Clinton; one daughter, Nancy Jo Bowman, and her husband, Larry , of Clinton; three grandchildren, Larry E. Bowman, and his wife, Kim, of Brandon, Jason W. Boutwell, and his wife, Melissa, of Hattiesburg, and Nancy Kaye Denham, and her husband, Steve, of Brandon; five great-grandchildren; and his caregiver, Cathye Bates. He was preceded in death by his parents, C.A. and Nancy Boutwell, a brother Victor Boutwell and a sister, Ellen Day.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 5-8pm at James F. Webb Funeral Home in Newton, MS.
