Services for Mr. Dwight Long will be held 11 am, May 1, 2009 at First Baptist Church Union with Rev. Marcus Finch officiating. Burial will be in the Union City Cemetery with Milling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Long, 69, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Laird Hospital.

Mr. Long was born and raised in the Arlington Community. He was the owner of Long’s Building Materials of Decatur and Union for 20 years.

Mr. Long was an ordained deacon of First Baptist Church of Union. He was a past president of the MBMDA.

Loving Wife of almost 48 years:

Gail Long of Union

1 Daughter:

Cindy Stevens and husband Sammy of Union

1 Son:

Rusty Long and wife Kim of Union

5 Grandchildren:

Payton, Lane, and Jesse Stevens, Caden and Maggie Wade Long

Mr. Long was preceded in death by one son Wade Long, his parents, Billy Long and Claudia Long.

Pallbearers: Tony Crawford, Maxie Savell, David Winstead, Steve Breland, Andy Breland, and Kevin Breland

Honorary Pallbearers: Bob Hellenthal, Dean Russell, Edsel Cliburn, Larry Driskell, Thomas Gamblin, Cupit McElhenney, and Charles Walton

Memorial may be made to Regions Bank of Union in memory of Dwight Long for a future Union School project.

Visitation will be held 5-9 pm, Thursday at First Baptist Church Union and also one hour prior to service time Friday at First Baptist Church Union.
