Services for Mr. Dewey Shelby Hattaway will be held 11am, Friday, May 22, 2009 at Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy McDill officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery with Milling Funeral Home of Union in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hattaway, 85, of Little Rock, died Monday, May 18, 2009 at Hospice In His Hands. In Madden.
Mr. Hattaway was born November 21, 1923, in Newton, Ms. He served 20 years in the Navy and also served our country in World War II.
Survivors include: one son, Shelby Hattaway of Little Rock, one daughter , Anita (Kirby) Anderson of McHenry, 5 grandchildren, Jacob Anderson, Katie (Jonathan) Dalton, Chad Anderson, James (Amanda) Hattaway, Amanda Rose Hattaway, one great grandson, Braxton Hattaway, one sister, Odessa Stephens of Union. Special Caregiver: Donna Blyphe
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Juanita Oliver Hattaway, his parents James and Lula Hattaway, four brothers, Herbert Hattaway, Coyt Hattaway, Roy C. Hattaway, Sr., O.L. Hattaway, Sr., and one sister, Mildred Shirley.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Anderson, Chad Anderson, James Hattaway, Jonathan Dalton, Allen Oliver, Reggie Oliver, Michael Oliver, Ronnie Wilson and William Pedersen.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Hattaway, Hugh Oliver, Doyle White, J.E. Strange, Ricky Sheehan, Leon Harrison, Fred Galyean, Jimmy Butler and Dennis Miller.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm at Milling Funeral Home of Union. There will be a 30 minute visitation at Hopewell Baptist Church before the service Friday from 10:30-11am.
