Mrs. Myrtle W. Jones, age 91, of Newton, MS passed away on Friday 7/3/2009 at Neshoba County Nursing Home in Philadelphia, MS. Services will be held at 4:00pm at the Newton County Funeral Home Chapel on Monday 7/6/2009 with Reverend Billy Ray Gibbs officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery in Newton, MS. Mrs. Jones was born May 18, 1918 in Newton County. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Newton, MS.
Survivors include: a daughter, Jessie Faye Fairley of Jackson; a son, Richard Clay (Joan) of Philadelphia, MS; three grandchildren: Cindy McFadden (Tim), James R. Jones, and Douglas M. Jones (Deanna); six great-grandchildren: Jamie Cox, Jordan Worrell, Hannah Jones, Joshua Jones, Annika Jones, and Savannah Jones, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Jessie D. Jones; her parents: Clay and Jurlene Williams; 2 brothers: Dewey Williams and Clifton Williams; 2 sisters: Christine Williams and Bonnie Williams Kirby.
Pallbearers include: Doug Jones, Paul Holifield, Tim McFadden, Kevin Harris, Stacy Harris, and Mike Kossey.
Honorary Pallbearers include: James Jones, Joshua Jones, W.C. Barlow and Ed Kossey.
Visitation will be held from 1:30-4:00pm on Monday 7/9/2009 at Newton County Funeral Home.
